Mental Coaching
Competition and training can be difficult emotionally. Learn some techniques and thought patterns to create a more resilient mind.
One of my strengths -- often noted by those who have watched me play -- is my ability to be calm and stoic under pressure. In my professional career, I manage the nerves of competing against players ranked below me, the loss of focus that can happen when a win is within reach, and the frustration when things do not seem to be going my way. My experience with these emotions has helped me develop ways to cope with stress and remain competitive in the game of squash.
College Recruiting
Schedule a talk with me about the college squash recruiting process. I graduated from Harvard last year and have a recent connection to the college squash scene and know what many of the coaches and their programs are like. In the past few years, I have spoken to many American and international players about college squash and what the recruiting process entails. It can feel overwhelming trying to talk with coaches, understanding a particular program's athletic and academic culture, and figuring out which camps to attend and which schools to visit.
Match Analysis
Watch a match of your choosing with me to get feedback in real time. An experienced perspective will provide better insight into the improvements you can make. See options below.
Your Matches: Video is one of the best coaches, as seeing is believing. At Harvard, we used video of our matches as a tool to better understand our own strengths and weaknesses as well as those of our opponents. Now that I am on the professional tour, I still use video to analyze how I can improve on strategy, positioning, and shot selection. It is helpful to have a trained eye to break down the elements of your game and improve your squash performance.
Opponent Matches: For the opponents that you cannot quite figure out, video might just save the day. Analyzing the matches of how they play against you or someone else will help you to perform better when facing them next time.
Professional Matches: Learn from the best by walking through an analysis of a professional match. See how they control the court and begin to understand how you can borrow from your favorite players' styles and tactics.
